LIVINGCLAY CARE GUIDE
Caring for your ceramic tableware
WASHING
All our ceramic ware which is predominantly crafted in stoneware is dishwasher safe. However, they have been handcrafted and washing such delicate pieces with hand with a non-abrasive detergent is really the best option.
While stacking them in the dishwasher, do make sure that they are not coming in contact with other ware and avoid high temperature settings as ceramics are heat sensitive.
When using a dishwasher, pour 1/2 a cup of vinegar in the bottom of the dishwasher before starting the wash cycle. The result should be clean, odour free dishes and a fresh smelling dishwasher.
STAINS & SCUFFS
For dark scuffs on your stoneware, caused from cutlery or stacking your dishes, sprinkle a teaspoonful of baking soda onto the marked area. Rub the baking soda over the dark streaks or scuffs with a dampened sponge. Rinse the dish and wash it as usual, if needed.
EXPOSURE TO HEAT
Ceramic ware must not be exposed to extreme heat changes and temperature shocking. Our ceramic ware is microwave and oven safe. However, if a dish or bowl has just been removed from the hot dishwasher or the oven environment, do not immediately serve freezing cold food like ice cream or iced coffee.
Our ware is not cookware and hence cannot be introduced to direct fire.
STORING CERAMIC WARE
Dishware in particular must be stacked with napkins in between to avoid scratcheds and marks.
UNIQUENESS
Every LivingClay piece has an inherently unique character as it is handcrafted from start to finish. There are always variations in glaze thickness, subtle differences in form and often weight. These variations are something we take pride in and celebrate as every piece becomes a one-of-a-kind piece in the set.
